I was asked a question here as to posting ! why does it just vanishes an is a blank ?
my answer : at first is to call it my favorite made up word > A crapachino . AUGH !
I have spent hours writing a message or blog here only to hit the post button and swoosh cyber space eats it .
It is so very disturbing especially in my sense I begin to write I may have absolutely no idea what it is that I am going to write about but in going with the art and flow of the words my thoughts are focus on the form content and the next word outlaid the past written may be an illusion as to the forward to me is much more important . Effectively I may go over it to edit and review mistake but in reality I may not remember it . because I am looking at it rather than the act of reading it . The old saying if it doesn't look right in most cases it is not .
In so which what I have learned to do here is actually write myself an E Mail . The type styles are different in my E Mail program than here plus more color options etc. I will then send it to myself open and I then copy it and paste . This way if in the event it disappears I just click paste again. And hit post again it will then post mostly on the second post . I have noticed this happens quite often and is terribly disheartening especially when putting your heart and soul out into an article posting etc. I think it is in the functional server post and its gone. this issue started out on a once in awhile situation but lately it has become excessively prevalent . thus forth now I opt to do the E Mail posting way I described above it also gives you a copy of everything you do and I save that too for re posting a over and over description or reference. Although just the other day I forgot all about it I spent two hours telling a story it was going very well it was a fantastic subject it had great content flow it was truly fantastic really. There was a significant flow in the style and the words just clicked I reviewed it edited it and was so happy at its completion it truly was a great work . I then hit post and swoosh it was gone into cyber space . never to be found I was so saddened due to it had taken so very long to create the page . I just closed the lid on my laptop thinking it was just not meant to be . I have made no attempt at recreating the very same story due to it seemed doomed to be jinxed .
Another way to get over the post glitch is to post a single period and hit the post button if it disappears and then the header has a red box at the top left you'll see it upon trying to post again I have noticed that post box then will direct post correctly.
It truly is a total crazy nutz situation .
As a writer it really is severe when creating pages upon pages and loosing it . You just want to scream .
I too, have lost, great wonderful rantings of my mildly insane mind. If I think the post will be long and detailed, I do something similar, I type it in notepad first or ms word, then copy and paste. Love your pups, heres a pic of my "other" son, Boogie...
Wow... that was a REAL SHOCK to us too... Our post about "copy and paste" went lost into "cyber space" while we were re-posting it (after a small edit)... :)
We'll be re-posting promptly... thanks to our procedure... we have the post outside of Aidpage!
in response to AidpageTeam...reply to Aidpage Team:---Yes, it helps a great deal, especially the way you numbered each step of which I am going to write down and give it a try. I have tried to use my mouse several times but all I end up with is just a garble of different sentences. I think I will have much better luck using the keyboard as you suggested, I can't thank you enough, I have been trying to learn this skill for a year now. I will let you know how I do and thankyou again. sheshe030
Write and save your text in Wordpad or Notepad... or even in your email program (where you have also the option to save it).
Select all of your text. You can do this with your cursor... or, place your cursor anywhere in your text and press Ctr+A (press the "Ctr" and the letter "A" buttons together... "A" stands for "All").
Copy your text - press Ctr+C - the buttons "Ctr" and "C" together ("C" stands for "Copy"). The computer puts your text in his memory (clipboard).
Open your web browser and go to Aidpage. Go to your Aidpage blog (if you want to make a new page on your blog).
Click on the link that says "Make a new post"... and you'll be going to the Aidpage posting screen...
Put your cursor in the posting box (you should see it blinking there).
Paste your text - use the shortcut Ctr+V (not clear what "V" stands for... but the action is "paste")... or (if in Windows), use the right-button menu for the command "Paste".
Format your text by using the controls given on Aidpage - this way you will have posts that look good on Aidpage.
in response to Dirtdog...What a brilliant idea--You have to put the dogs picture in for you, not that your not beautiful and all that but how appropriate to use the dogs picture with your monicker is genius. Is this a picture of your baby (dog) what a cutie, I have 2 pugs that are more precious than my own kids. You simply must use your dog to represent you, it gives you a whole new aura and new expectations so go for it my friend, go for it. sheshe030
Oh geez I have lost so many it was very frustrating for sure .
After painstakenly banging it out so to speak only for it to vanish . I see there is a lot here whom don't have photos but a strange avatar depicting one thing or the other maybe I should change mine to one of my dogs ... HA!!!!!!!!
Fitting at least to my name change .................................... Sincerely w/t love and appreciation Dirtdog
comment to DirtDog:---Thankyou for sharing the loss of perfectly good stories and or information. For awhile there I thought I was the only one losing every other post I made and some of them were well thought out replys that I put a lot of myself into and took quite a long time to write. I'm not happy you have lost your work but I am happy that I'm not the only one. Since I still haven't mastered the copy and paste thing I just have to take my chances and go for it and when I hit post I offer the universe a little promise to meditate more if the post goes through, so far I'm meditating much more than I was last month. I really enjoy your stories so I hope you won't have any more trouble losing them. Thankyou for posting on a problem that I thought only I was having. sheshe030
The typical reason for losing posts into the "cyber space" is a lost connection to the server. This may happen especially if you stay long enough (over 15 min) on the posting screen.
Here is what we recommend:
Prepare your text in a desktop text editing software - on your own computer (not on the Aidpage website). We strongly recommend using plain text editors like Wordpad or Notepad (Windows). Rich text editors like Word create their own formatting code that doesn't work well when pasted on Aidpage. You can take all your time drafting/editing/spellchecking/saving your text on your computer.
Once ready, come to Aidpage, go to the screen for posting... and simply paste your already prepared text there. Even if something goes lost into the "cyber space" ... :), you can easily just copy/paste again from your original that you prepared and saved on your computer.
Format your text by using the controls given on Aidpage - this way you will have posts that look good on Aidpage.
Additional tips:
Email programs (on your computer) can be used for text editing and saving. However, they have the same problem as Word - they introduce formatting code that may not work well when pasted online (on Aidpage). So, again, better to use plain text programs like Wordpad or Notepad.
Do not paste into Aidpage stuff you copy directly from other websites. This introduces foreign formatting code into Aidpage which may "break" your aidpages (this is similar to what happens when pasting directly from Word).
